Charles LeClaire/USA TODAY Sports N.C. State busted millions of brackets Saturday night, knocking off No. 1 Villanova to reach the Sweet 16 and improve the ACC’s record in the tournament to 9-0. President Barack Obama picked the Wildcats to advance to the national championship game, and after the Wolfpack ousted Villanova from the tournament, N.C. State’s Cat Barber took a shot at the president for not picking the underdog: “The [expletive] wrong with Barack Obama?” (Warning: Vine contains profane language) Barber tweeted that he simply got caught up in the moment. Good team win tonight and Yall know I loveeee Obama HONEST!! 🏀👌 — CAT (@catbarber1994) March 22, 2015 Got nothing but respect for @barackobama . Love our president! Caught up in a moment, Sweet 16!!! — CAT (@catbarber1994) March 22, 2015 The president has taken a considerable amount of heat for his picks. Georgia State’s Ron Hunter and Butler’s Chris Holtmann both criticized Obama for picking their teams to lose. (Thanks to SB Nation for sharing this Vine.)
