Europe is relatively fertile ground for Windows Phone, and Microsoft hopes to grow more in the region. Microsoft Director of the mobile sales for Portugal and Spain, Luís Peixe, told Diario Economico, told Telcompaper Microsoft is aiming for 10% market share in Portugal this year. According to IDC in 2014 Microsoft held 6.5% market share in the country, up from 5.2% in 2013. This still accounts for only 175,000 handsets, but Microsoft hopes the super-cheap Lumia 435 and 532 will raise this number significantly.
