Another weather system is going to move north into the Great Lakes area overnight and Wednesday. This will drag milder and moisture-laden air northward. This morning is the sunniest part of the day with clouds thickening all afternoon. Tonight’s system isn’t a big storm. Generally a few inches of snow will fall, perhaps 1 to 3 inches in most areas with maybe 4 inches showing up in isolated locations north and west of Route 495. Early Wednesday the precipitation will end as light rain. Although we are expecting rain, I don’t feel there will be enough to cause widespread issues with flooding or weight on roofs. It will be mild Wednesday afternoon with some areas in the lower or perhaps even middle 40s. On Thursday a new weather system will pass south of the area. This will bring a renewed chance of snow with the best opportunity for accumulating snow the further south you live. After this system passes more arctic air will arrive for the end of the week. By Friday morning it will be in the single digits again. We are getting very close the final days of below-zero weather. If you look at the averages for March, the record lows start to more frequently rise above zero, meaning it becomes more difficult to reach zero after the end of this week. The pattern is slowly breaking down. There are subtle changes starting to occur with pressure patterns over the Pacific which should eventually start leading to more seasonable temperatures in
