Rand Paul ‘s explosive interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie earlier today reignited complaints about how Paul supposedly treats female interviewers more rudely and abruptly than he does male interviewers, also citing the time in February when Paul literally shushed his female CNBC interviewer . On CNN earlier, Wolf Blitzer confronted Paul about this and asked him to respond to the suggestion he’s ruder to female interviewers. Paul said, “I think I’ve been universally short-tempered and testy with both male and female reporters, I’ll own up to that. It’s hard sometimes.” He expressed his frustration with how Guthrie was, in his view, “editorializing… mischaracterizing a position and not really asking a question.” Paul told Blitzer he would prefer interviews to just ask questions instead of trying to editorialize, and claimed he got annoyed with a male reporter this very morning.
