Unless you have managed to avoid the Internet today, you have probably been bombarded with talk of the Apple Watch, as reviews dropped earlier today ahead of the April 10th pre-order date. All of the watch cacophony apparently got Google’s attention, and they took to the Android Official Blog to remind folks that Android Wear already has your wrist covered. First is a feature that Apple Watch notably and somewhat bizarrely lacks, and that is third-party watch faces. There are more than a thousand available on Google Play, and that includes a number of watch face apps that will let you customize your own watch face exactly how you want it. Google selected 141 of their favorites to highlight here . There are definitely some in there that I hadn’t seen before, so I’ll be perusing it later and downloading some new options for my Moto 360 . If you have any favorites that are or aren’t on this list, then let us know about them. The second bit of news that Google chose to highlight is a wider selection of straps for Android Wear watches. Google rightly points out that most use standard 22mm bands, meaning you have thousands of options out there that will work just fine. But a few companies have curated some collections of watch bands specifically for Android Wear watches.
