AKQA introduces the “Autonomous Office Chair” in an April Fool’s Day effort for Audi. Taking a slightly more dry approach than some of the other April Fool’s efforts we’ve seen today, the spot opens by introducing the chair as the “latest autonomous mobility innovation.” It bills the chair as “designed and engineered for performance, intelligence and safety,” which sounds a lot like something you’d heard in a voiceover for an Audi vehicle. Aside from the supposed wind-tunnel testing for aerodynamic efficiency, the spot avoids getting too over the top, trading instead in low key office humor. That actually helps the effort stand out from the pack of April Fool’s Day efforts we’ve seen today.
