The global tablet market shrank year-over-year for the first time during the most recent quarter, according to new estimates from IDC. The market dipped 3.2 percent from 78.6 million units to 76.1 million, driven in large part by declines at Apple and Amazon. Apple's iPad shipments fell nearly 18 percent from 26 million to a little over 21.4 million; Amazon, meanwhile, plummeted almost 70 percent, from 5.8 million units to 1.7 million. Also contributing however were drops at ASUS and Samsung. The former slid from 4 to 3 million tablets, while Samsung went from 13.5 million to 11 million....
