The abundance of snow that has graced the region, according to outdoor enthusiasts, has made winter adventures easier to reach than usual. Snow cover makes local sites such as Bear Creek and Monument Valley parks great for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, outdoor retailers say. Act quickly, though, if you don't own your gear: as of midafternoon Friday, most snowshoes and skis were rented out for the weekend. Mountain Chalet was out of rental cross-country skis and had only two pairs of snowshoes for rent left as of 3:15 Friday. A handful of backcountry
