MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Small Twin Cities shops saw big business on Saturday. Every year shoppers are encouraged to support local businesses for “Small Business Saturday,” the day after the Black Friday shopping holiday. “We will probably have our biggest day of the year,” said Paul Allbright, co-owner of Succotash in St. Paul. Succotash has been open for nearly 20 years. The shop offers everything from retro knickknacks from the ’60s and ’70s to modern day furniture. “They know their different eras, they know different collections, they know all the different designers,” Maria Manske, from St. Paul, said. “So, if you’re looking for something specific, this is really a good place to come.” What do you get for that fitness freak on your shopping list? Mill City Running in Northeast Minneapolis can be your one stop shop for athletic shoes, shirts, and energy snacks. “It’s awesome,” Heather Sawdey, from Minneapolis, said. “They have great clothes.
